to talk about this summer’s “Float-in Movie Series” plus, “Friday Night Splash”, “Summer Movie Madness” and more.
Rainfall in the southeastern portion of Lee County caused flooding, road closures and collapsed bridges in the early morning hours Wednesday. Over the last 24 hours, between 4 and 6 inches have fallen in areas of Lee co. In the last three days, that number is near 8 inches. Workers cleared debris from roadways throughout Smiths Station yesterday after severe floods damaged bridges, shutting down traffic and closing multiple roads. Some residents said the water was ‘Up to their cars door handles’. A section of Lee Road 246 was also among the closed areas.
Rachel Carswell and Liz Zenas of Health Plus Fitness were in studio Wednesday 5/23 to promote the upcoming Fit to Fight fundraiser. Health Plus Fitness offers cancer patients rehab without charge and this fundraiser makes this possible, in part. Fit to Fight is scheduled for June 9th at Health Plus Fitness and will have a 1 mile run, a silent auction, an open house, free skin cancer screening and much more.
Jimmy was on “Auburn/Opelika This Morning” and talked about the history of John Emerald Distillers as well as weekly tours they offer to the public. Mr. Sharp discussed the various products Emerald offers that are completely produced in their Opelika Distillery. Things are going so well at John Emerald Distillery they plan to add new employees in the near future!
Forrest was on NewsTalk WANI’s “Auburn/Opelika This Morning” with Bob Wooddy to bring everyone up to date on growth in the City of Auburn including the North West Corridor plans.
Jeff appeared on “Auburn/Opelika This Morning” Tuesday 5/22 to talk about the red-hot real estate market in Lee Co and gave some very valuable tips to home buyers and sellers to help make the buying and selling process go as smooth as possible.
Todd Scholl was on NewsTalk WANI on “Auburn/Opelika This Morning” and discussed the upcoming Mayor’s Breakfast to honor Veterans who have made the ultimate sacrifice on Memorial Day. The Mayor’s Breakfast will start at 8am. Todd also talked about The Hotel at Auburn’s special Father’s Day weekend plans.
