2nd Annual John Jerome “Acing ALS” Tennis Benefit
October 14 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Date: October 4th, 2019
Time: 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM
The 2nd annual John Jerome “Acing ALS” Tennis Benefit will take place on October 4, 2019 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Yarbrough Tennis Center.
Participants of all ages and skill levels are welcome to participate in the tournament. Players 10 years old and younger will play tennis-related games. Intermediate players from 10 to 15 years old will compete against each other in doubles; adults and advanced junior players will also compete in doubles. Winning teams will be awarded a trophy. Those with the fastest serve in each age category will also win a prize. Snacks, drinks, and pizza will be provided by the Auburn Community Tennis Association.
The registration cost for the event is $20. Corporate sponsorship is also available for $150. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the event will go towards the Emory ALS Center, one of the largest clinical centers for ALS in the United States. Last year, the event raised over $16,000 for ALS research; this year, the goal is $20,000.
Tournament chairman John Jerome and his family have been part of Auburn’s tennis community for over 20 years. Suffering from the disease himself, he has been a long-time advocate for finding a cure.
