The route will turn right onto Tichenor, right onto Gay St., travel south down Gay St. making a right onto Thatch. It will end at the same location it begins. Parade begins at 5:00 p.m. Downtown streets will close earlier in the day. Parade watchers are encouraged to catch beads, moon pies and throws at a safe distance from the floats. It is an entertainment district event. The Auburn Downtown Merchants are adding to the festivities of the day by hosting a Krewe Crawl. “The merchants were impressed with the turnout last year and wanted to help encourage the community to stay after the parade and enjoy what Downtown has to offer,” Eric Stamp, downtown business owner. Individuals may purchase a commemorative set of beads the day of the parade at the Downtown Merchants tent in front of Stamp on College. Area restaurants, bars and retailers will offer discounts and specials to individuals who participate in the Krewe Crawl. Proceeds benefit the Auburn Downtown Merchants Association. The Krewe de Tigris, founded in 2016, is a social organization with the sole purpose of bringing together family, friends and community to celebrate the merriment of fellowship year-round, with special emphasis placed on the Mardi Gras season.
