Four Alexander City Men Arrested on More than 50 Warrants

After a year-long investigation, law enforcement agencies arrested four Alexander City men Tuesday on more than 50 warrants for drug-related charges in the Alexander City area. Ronnie “Flip” Russell Jr., 33, was arrested and charged with 20 counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance. Derrick “Meaty” Lewis, 36, was arrested and charged with 19 counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance. Anthony “Rambo” Russell, 30, was arrested and charged with three counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance. Marcus “Champ” Russell, 32, was arrested and charged with one count of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance. “The arrests are a culmination of over a yearlong operation to identify and develop solid cases against these offenders according to the Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators seized approximately 380 grams of marijuana, seven grams of crack cocaine and one gram of meth. Police also seized seven vehicles & multiple firearms and approximately $3,338 in cash. The investigation of illegal trafficking, distribution and possession of narcotics in Tallapoosa County remains ongoing.
